Taking Affiliate Links

(Understanding various types of links)

Till now we have

·        Understood the concept of Affiliate Marketing.

·        Made a Publisher account on CJ.com.

·        Applied for Merchants / Advertisers.

Now that we have applied for the Advertisers, we will have to wait for a couple of days, to see if our applications have been accepted or not by the respective advertisers. You can refer to the Image above in your CJ login (Arrow2) to check how many names you have in the drop down list. These are the companies for which you are authorized to do the promotions. 

Now in this section we will see the different types of Affiliate Links that can be taken from one particular advertiser. Also we will analyze the importance, significance and use of each type of link. 

For representation purpose we will take any advertiser from "My Advertiser" section. First we will understand the type of links and later on in next section we will see as to which advertiser we need to finalize for our work.

Option for You to Learn this Section

1. Audio-Video Tutorial:  Should work on any windows based PC. Utilizes Windows Media Player that is a default s/w in your windows installation.

2. View on You Tube: If the above does not work for you, this one definitely should.

Imp Update: From Oct-Nov 2009, Keyword link has been removed from "Get Links" section in CJ. For Search Engine marketing (PPC Programs like Adwords) text links can easily be used in place of Keywords links.

Text Write Up

1. Login to CJ and browse to the bottom of the page after logged in.

2. You will see My Advertiser with Drop down menu. (Arrow 2  in image above).

You will get number of Advertisers in the Dropdown Menu. These are the advertisers you have got approval from. For understanding purpose, we will randomly take any one advertiser. Any one will do at the moment. This is just for understanding purpose.
 

3. After selecting the advertiser, click on Go button.

4.  You will get a new window for Advertiser details.

On the right hand side, you will get Get Links section and in that you will get 3 types of links i.e. Banner, Text Link and Keyword Link ( keyword link no longer available).

These are various type of links that will be used to promote our Merchant. So if you want to promote through Email marketing OR by placing on your website (if you have), you have to use Banner link or Text Link.

5.  Now come to the Get Links area where there are 3 links Banner, Text Link and Keyword Link (no longer available).

We will take example of Text link. Same applies for other links also. Click on Text Link. (For promoting via Online PPC Programs)

After clicking a new window will be opened with a Text link.

Select any one Keyword link by clicking on the small check box on the left hand side and Click on "Get HTML" appearing at the right end.

In a new window, a code will appear at the bottom that looks something like this:

When published on a blog / website / webpage this will appear as a Text Ad like One.com

If you wish to use the same for PPC Programs like Google Adwords, you have to use only the section  http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-3665215-10648371 from the above code (explained in Promotion section) .
